Our Philosophy

Welcome to FudgePhysio — a dedicated home for independent Physiotherapy and Hippotherapy, tailored to your child’s unique needs.

Physiotherapy for children is a highly specialised field. Young people aren’t simply “small adults”; they have distinct anatomical, physiological, and psychological needs. Effective therapy must be engaging, motivating, and fun, helping children feel confident and positive as they develop new skills.

Hippotherapy is a clinically‑led therapy that uses the three‑dimensional movement of a horse at walk to influence and improve the rider’s posture, balance, core strength, and overall movement patterns. This rhythmic, natural motion provides sensory and motor input that cannot be replicated in a clinic setting.

Research has shown that hippotherapy can benefit children with cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, brain and spinal cord injuries, and a wide range of movement disorders. Improvements in functional ability have been demonstrated following a course of hippotherapy and can be maintained over time. Children with autism and other learning disabilities also frequently respond well to this therapeutic approach, gaining not only physical benefits but increased engagement, confidence, and emotional regulation.

At FudgePhysio, physiotherapy and hippotherapy come together to create a supportive, joyful environment where children — and adults with complex needs — can thrive
